Diana loves color and continues to explore and integrate into her work many fun & new techniques while still retaining the ability to achieve a natural look if so desired.
Having also worked at an Aveda Salon for14 years, Diana continues to incorporate the beloved scalp treatment, using fine essential oils and relaxing massage, before one of her precision cuts.
Michael Keenan, 56, owned and operated the eccentric shop the Outer Edge, on Bonifacio Place in downtown Monterey, where for more than 10 years he cut hair and sold antiques on the side.
Keenan loved to travel. He spent about 10 days in Monterey and 20 in Thailand every month. His friends speculated that the main reason he decided to go back and forth was because he didn't like the weather in Monterey, but he loved the people.
Keenan was originally from New York and had served in the Air Force and worked for Frito-Lay in New York when he was younger. In fact, friends recalled that Keenan was the youngest executive that ever worked at the company. While living in Monterey, he went to art school in San Francisco. For the past 10 years, he would split his time between residences in Monterey and in other parts of the country or abroad.
Keenan had a special signal to let friends and customers know he was in town. He would place an old turquoise wringer clothes washer in front of his store. Friends and clients looked for it.
